Messi reaches 600 goals for Barca

Lionel Messi has now reached 600 goals with FC Barcelona. The Argentinian, who is currently La Liga’s Pichichi top scorer and the European Golden Boot leader, achieved a new landmark after his brace against Liverpool at Camp Nou on Wednesday. The Argentinian has taken 683 matches in Barça’s first team to reach the new mark (0.88 goals per match) and he has done so on a very special day, the 14th anniversary of his first official goal for the blaugranes.

That was against Albacete in La Liga with the assist provided by Ronaldinho. A lot has happened since then. He surpassed the total of Cesar Rodriguez when scoring a hat-trick against Granada back in 2012.
